BEACH HOUSE SAGA#2

THE WAVES COME CRASHING INTO REALITY.

Sam had gone on long afternoon walk along the beach,

splashing in the waves as he walked along.

The Florida coast was always beautiful this time of year.

His thoughts returned to the letter he received earlier.

The one without a return address.

Sam made it a point to open the letter

when he got back to his beach house.

Sam sat on his beach house patio and asked Rico to open another bottle of wine

and invited him to join him.

Over the years the two men got to be good friends.

Sam trusted him with his life.

Rico had stood by Sam when others would seek other employment.

Rico’s girlfriend, Stella, would sometimes join Rico and Sam at the beach house.

Sam enjoyed both of their company.

Stella worked as a governess for a family living close by Sam’s Florida place.

“What’s up with the letter, boss?”

“I don’t know but I’m about to open it. Sit down, Rico. Where’s Stella?

“She had to work late today.

Stella said she would bring us dinner after she got off duty, if that’s OK with you.”

“Homemade dinner by Stellar is a real treat. Fine by me.”

“Good, I’ll call Stellar.”

Rico departed the patio, leaving Sam alone to open the letter.

Sam found beautiful stationary inside the envelope.

There was a sweet smell coming from the paper.

Sam took a deep breath and let the aroma sink into his being.

Dear Sam Harley,

We have not met each other but

I would like to meet you at a time that is of your choosing.

You see, I desperately need your help to solve a murder.

My sister, Patricia Taylor did not commit suicide.

You may reach me at the hotel address listed below.

Regards,

Peggy Mitchell.
