SOME WHERE IN THE CARIBBEAN.

Melissa and Danel decided to continue their vacation on a seclusive island in the Caribbean.

“Are you going back to Boston, Melissa?”

“Why? Do you have a better idea?”

“I was thinking about your book idol, John Grishan,

and how you would like to live, write and practice law in the South.”

“Yes, someday I will do that but it’s a dream.”

“You know dreams do come true, Melissa. I have a dream, too.”

“Really, Daniel, what your dream?”

“I was dreaming about relocating from Washington DC to South Carolina.”

“Really? How soon?”

“As soon you say, you will marry me, Melissa.”

“Marry you?”

“Yes, marry me, please.”

“Yes, I’ll marry you, Daniel, but first tell me your last name.”

They both laughed as the waves swept over them.

Goin’ to the chapel
And we’re gonna get married
Goin’ to the chapel
And we’re gonna get married
Gee I really love you
And we’re gonna get married
Goin’ to the chapel of love

KINGSTON COURT HOUSE.

Daniel arrived at the Kingston Court House just before noon.

He was tired of driving and decided to grab a quick lunch before going into the court house.

After lunch, Daniel found out that the jail was headquartered behind the court house

and that was where he was headed.

But to his surprise, he saw Melissa and another person exiting the building.

“Hey, Daniel, you are too late.”
“Sam, Sam Harley what are you doing in Jamaica.”

“I’m here to bail out Miss Jamison from jail.

I would have thought you would have done

your job, then I wouldn’t have to interrupt my vacation.”

“Daniel, what is Mr. Harley talking about? Your job?”

“Melissa, I guess I didn’t tell you but I’m a DEA agent.”

“A drug agent?”

“Yes, and not a very good one at that. I’m sorry you got mixed up in

a DEA operation we were conducting aboard the ship. We have been after

Ricardo for a long time. It wasn’t until your friend Misty made the contact we needed

to finally arrest him.”

“Misty? Misty worked with you on this drug bust?”

“Yes, my dear, your friend set you both up to take the trip

and she was paid very well to do so. Of course, she didn’t know they were going

to set you with cocaine to get you out of the way. Remember, you threaten Ricardo in the

hallway on the ship. He wanted you arrested

and off the ship so he could continue to sell cocaine to his clients aboard the ship.

He was making a lot of money and couldn’t have you mess with his business.”

Melissa was listening with her mouth wide open.

“Why, I had no idea.”

“Misty is quite a good actress, I think she has a future with our agency.”

“Misty a DEA agent?”

Melissa laughed.

She was happy to be out of jail and to able to see Daniel again.

“Sam, I think your job is done here. I can take it from here, thanks.”

“OK, Daniel, but remember you owe me one.”

“Got it chief.”

THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT

NEED TO STAY SECRET.

That was the case with Daniel.

He left the cruise ship and went to search for Melissa.

Why did he do that?

Act of bravery?

His assigned mission?

Could it be love?

When Daniel couldn’t find Melissa on the beach, he headed for the police station.

Arriving at the local police station and inquiring about Miss Jamison he was told

she was transferred to the capitol city of Kingston.

It was a two hour drive to Kingston and the buses were not running at night.

He decided to rent a jeep and drive there himself but found out the car agency was closed

until morning.

Daniel rented a room at an old run-down hotel which reminded him of The Bates Motel.

He didn’t have the luxury of a 5-star hotel, he took what he could, besides it was only for

a few hours.

It was the roosters that woke up Daniel in the morning.

Checking his watch, he saw the time.

He would camp out at the rental agency an hour ahead of opening,

hoping someone would arrive early to work.

It was Daniel’s lucky day, an employee showed up early and rented him a Jeep.

Daniel was off to Kingston.

SOMEWHERE IN THE CARIBBEAN.

Congressman Jamison put a phone call to his best friend and fellow agent, Sam.

“Houston, we have a problem.”

“Hey James, you know I’m Harley now, don’t you?”

“Sam, you change last names as frequently as you change wives.”

Sam chuckled.

“What’s up, James.”

“Are you still vacationing in the Caribbean these days with Isabella?”

“Yes, and we are having a relaxing good time. I’m fishing every day

and I’m planning to continue my well-deserved holiday.”

“Not any longer because I need a big favor from you. It seems that my

niece, Melissa Jamison got herself arrested in Jamaica for smuggling drugs.

I need to you get her out of Jamaica and back home.”

“Where is home?”

“Boston.”

“Do you want to imitate Buth Cassidy and break her out of jail?”

“Sam, you know the routine. Bring cash with you. I got to run.

Let’s talk in a few days after you finish the job. Bye.”

Sams iPhone went dead.

Congressman James Jamison was elected to Congress over ten years ago

from the great state of Texas.

Everyone in Congress loves and trusts him but do not know he is a

intelligence agent from an undisclosed Agency in Washington DC.

You could say he is doing double duty.

The Agency got him successfully elected.

James has a younger brother, Mark, who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.

He’s not close to his brother for many reasons so when he received a phone call from

Mark he was skeptical.

What the hell did he want?

Money?

Mark was careless with money, most of it went towards, drugs.

“Hello Mark.”

“James, I know it’s been a long time since we spoke but…”

James cut him off.

“Yes, three years to be exact, Mark. What do you want?”

“It’s Melissa, my daughter. She got herself in trouble.”

“I see, it must run in our family.”

“Funny, but not funny. She’s in jail in Jamaica and I need

your help in getting her out. Please James.”

“Oh, my God Mark, what did she do? Partying too much on Jamaican rum?”

“Haha, not funny, Bro, it’s for smuggling drugs.”

THE CRUISE SHIP DEPARTS FROM JAMAICA.

It was a few minutes before 9 p.m. when Daniel and his friends

were returning to the ship before it was scheduled to depart.

Misty was standing on the dock and confronted Daniel.

“Have you seen Melissa? She hasn’t returned to the ship.”

“Misty, no, I’ve been on an island tour all day with friends.”

“I’m worried about her. It’s not like her. The last time I saw her was at the beach party.”

Daniel looked at watch. It was 9 o’clock and the ship’s horn was blowing.

The crew was starting to pull up the gang plank.

Daniel jumped off the ramp and made a mad dash towards the beach.

He knew he would miss the ship’s departure but he had a mission.

He had to rescue Melissa.

Jamaican police were only doing their job.

These two policemen may look like they are having a good time

but in reality, they see and encounter drug overdoses

and wasted away tourists who drink too much 100% proof rum.

To them it was all in a day’s work.

Melissa Jamison fell into the category of being drunk on the beach.

She was taken to the Jamaican police station and charged with disorderly conduct.

That was before they searched her backpack

and found two pounds of cocaine concealed in the bag.

“But I told you, it’s not my coke.”

“It’s your backpack, right?”

“Yes, but…”

“Lock her up for trafficking cocaine.”

PERFECT DAY FOR A BEACH PARTY.

Melissa and Misty arrived at the singles beach party during the time it was in full swing.

Reggae music was playing, people dancing on the sand

and the cocktails were free for the taking.

A perfect beach party.

Misty hooked up with Ricardo which left Melissa alone sitting in the sand.

“May I have this dance?”

Melissa lifted her sunglasses to find a total stranger towering above her.

“What? I can’t hear you. The band is too loud.”

The young man extended his hand to Melissa.

She took his hand, and he pulled her up on her bare feet.

“Hi, I’m Jack.”

“Hello Jack, nice to meet you. Are you with our singles group from the ship?”

“No, but I am single. You looked lonely. Come on let’s get a drink.”

Melissa laughed. Which she did often when she was nervous.

Afternoon turned into early evening and Melissa was passed out on the beach.

Misty was nowhere around.

WELCOME TO JAMAICA.

One love, one heart
Let’s join together and a-feel alright
One love (oh Lord of mercy)
One heart (I tell you)
Let’s join together (at this house I pray)
And a-feel alright (and I will feel alright)

(By Bob Marley & The Wailers)

Melissa and Misty were eager to get ashore after three days on being aboard ship.

FREEDOM.

“It feels wonderful to touch ground again.”

“You are so right, Melissa, I want to jump, run……”

“Slow down. Pace yourself. Let’s fill up our back packs with souvenirs.”

“I need a drink, Melissa.”

“Of course, you do. OK, let’s have a drink and then go shopping.”

“Thank you, Melissa.”

After one drink and hours of shopping the ladies were ready

to hit the singles party at the beach.

MIDNIGHT BUFFET.

Melissa met Daniel that evening for the long-anticipated MIDNIGHT BUFFET.

“Wow, look at that display of fruit.”

“That’s only the beginning, Melissa.”

Every direction Melissa and Daniel looked there were tables filled

with food from Desserts to Lobster.

“This is a foodies paradise. Where do we start, Daniel?”

“How about right here.” As he kissed Melissa with full force.
