DEAR SANTA

  Dear Santa,
I live in Carlsbad, California with my big brother, Finn, mom and dad and of course, Chewy, my dog. I would like for it to snow on Christmas day. I’ve never seen snow before, because it really doesn’t snow in San Diego.  It would be fun to play outside my house in the snow and make snowballs to throw at my brother and my cousin, Sahara. All of my family could make a snowman and decorate him with a carrot nose and two eyes made out of coal. Then, I would put a silly black top hat on him. We would dance around him and sing Christmas carols. Sahara would really like that too. I would invite my Grandma Helen, Grandpa Steve, my other Grandmother Shirley, cousin Sahara and her mom, Karen and her dad, Jamie and of course my Aunt Barbara.  We would have a merry, good time on Christmas day in San Diego. So, please Santa, send us some snow for Christmas. I’ve been very good this year but don’t ask me about Chewy. Sometimes he runs out into the middle of street and Finn and I have to run after him and bring him back. You see, Santa, he doesn’t mean to be naughty, he just likes to chase rabbits. I’m leaving you a few cookies and a big glass of milk, so you will remember me. Your friend, Keely

“Ho-Ho-Ho”, laughed Santa when he read Keely letter. “How are you going to handle this letter, Santa?” asked Sparky the elf. “You know, I can grant wishes for Christmas.” “But, Santa, snow in Southern California? How can you do that?” “Just remember, Christmas is a magical time of year.” Just then, Mrs. Claus walked into the Toy Workshop.
“Oh Santa, it’s starting to snow outside and I want you and elves to come into the house and rest for a while. I made your favorite gingerbread cookies. You can sit by the fire and enjoy the cookies with your mint tea.” “Thank you, Mrs. Claus, but we have to find a way to make it snow in Carlsbad, for a girl named Keely,” Sparky the elf announced “Why is that? And where is Carlsbad?” Mrs. Claus asked. “Ho-Ho-Ho, Carlsbad is in Southern California,” said Santa as he dusted the snow off of his boots. He got ready to sit in his chair near the warm fireplace and relax for a very long time. “Let me get your mint tea, Santa.” Mrs. Claus raced into the kitchen to bring Santa his gingerbread cookies and mint tea. “Santa, I was thinking about that little girl, Keely and her wish for snow in Southern California on Christmas Day,” Mrs. Claus said. “Oh, not now Mrs. Claus, I’m going to take a nap, after I finish my tea and cookies.” “Sweet dreams, Santa.” As Santa slept by the fire, Mrs. Claus started to plan a Magical Christmas for Keely. “Sparky, we have work to do, let’s go out to the Toy Workshop,” said Mrs. Claus. “What are we going to do to grant Keely her wish for Christmas?” asked Sparky the elf. “You will see soon enough.”  As the two walked thru the snow, in order to get to Santa’s Toy Workshop, Mrs. Claus looked up in the night sky and saw the North Star.  She made her wish. It didn’t take long for Mrs. Claus to do her work in the Toy Workshop. She looked down at Sparky and told him not to worry about Keely’s wish. It’s all taken care of now. Afterwards, Mrs. Claus and Sparky the elf, locked up the Workshop, and they walked back to the house. On the way, they decided to have a little fun, so they threw balls each other and one snowball just missed Santa reindeer. Oh, that was close. We can’t hurt the reindeer before the big night, thought Mrs. Claus. And most important, Keely would get to have her snow on Christmas.   After all, it was a Magical time of the year. Santa was just waking up from his nap when Mrs. Claus and Sparky the elf walked through the door of their cottage.  “I better get back to work on Keely’s wish,” said Santa. “No worries, Santa.  It’s all settled. I made a wish with the North Star. It will snow in Carlsbad, California.” “Oh, Mrs. Claus, what would I do without you?” “Santa, you are very lucky to have me, but I grateful that you are Santa Claus for the children around the world.”
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and especially to Keely & Finn!!
