Story of The Mar-a-Lago Club

The Mar-a-Lago Club

The luxury estate, spanning 20 acres of prime waterfront real estate in Palm Beach,

was dubbed the “Winter White House” long before President Donald Trump took ownership.

Mar-a-Lago, which means “Sea to Lake” in Spanish sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal waterway.

Its original owner, cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, bequeathed it to the federal government upon her death in 1973 and requested it be used as an official wintertime presidential retreat. Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter passed on the chance to make the mansion their Winter White House. Maintenance costs for the 58-bedroom, 33-bathroom estate proved to be too much, so President Jimmy Carter gave the estate back to the Post family in the early 1980s.

Shortly after that, Trump began negotiations to buy it. He closed the deal in 1985, purchasing it for a reported $8 million — $5 million for the property and $3 million for Post’s furnishings. Not a bad deal considering it was built over four years in the early 1920s at an estimated cost of $7 million, which is about $90 million today, according to Smithsonian Magazine.

Trump established the property as a luxury country club in 1995 and

changed the name from simply Mar-a-Lago to The Mar-a-Lago Club.

The hurricane-resistant structure is anchored to a coral reef by concrete and steel.
Trump built a 20,000-square-foot ballroom with $7 million in gold leaf and four gold-plated sinks worth $100,000.

Florida-ready Melania in FLATS

Donald and Melania Trump have arrived in Mar-a-Lago after fleeing Washington DC, where Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President, to start their new life after vowing that we haven’t seen the last of them and telling fans it was the honor ‘of their lifetime’ to serve as President and First Lady.

Melania, who wore a black Chanel suit and $60,000 Hermes bag with a pair of towering Christian Louboutin heels in the morning, had changed into a more comfortable and colorful $3,700 Gucci dress and a pair of $550 Roger Vivier flat pumps.

NUCLEAR FOOTBALL

Donald Trump’s decision to not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration has caused serious logistical problems for perhaps the most sensitive section of the presidential handover: the nuclear codes.

During a normal inauguration ceremony, the nuclear football, which contains the equipment the president uses to authenticate his orders and launch a nuclear strike, is handed over from one presidential aide to another at the stroke of noon.

Trump will leave Washington DC at around 8am, however, and fly to his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago.As president, he will take the nuclear football with him.
‘There are at least three to four identical ‘footballs’: one follows the president, one follows the vice president, and one traditionally is set aside for the designated survivor at events like inaugurations and State of the Union addresses,’ he said.

‘On 20 January, the extra footballs will be out of town somewhere with their designees, leaving just Mike Pence’s briefcase unless the White House Military Office has prepared (or already has on hand) another backup for Mr Biden.’

The president carries with him at all times a plastic card, known as ‘the biscuit,’ which contains codes that identify the president, who is the only person authorized to launch nuclear weapons.

The Constitution gives Trump control of nuclear attacks until the very second that Biden is sworn in.

Trump’s ‘biscuit’ will be deactivated at noon, and Biden’s come in to force.

The aide with the 45-pound briefcase containing the nuclear football will then leave Florida

and fly back to Washington DC.

A case belonging to the military aide with the nuclear codes is seen in June 2017

Trump will become the first president since 1869 not to attend his successor’s inauguration.

The Constitution does not require an outgoing president to attend an incoming president’s inauguration, and Trump will be the fourth not to, after John Adams, the second U.S. president; John Quincy Adams, the sixth president; and Andrew Johnson, the 17th president and the first to be impeached. All three were also one-term presidents.

Melania in BLACK

In the final hours of her husband’s presidency, Melania Trump wore head-to-toe black

while departing the White House.

The outgoing first lady, who often used her clothes to send messages during the Trump administration, donned the chic mourning look while boarding on Air Force One for Mar-a-Lago.

Noticeably, the first lady did not wear any American designers. Instead, she opted for a Chanel jacket, a Dolce and Gabbana dress and heels by Christian Louboutin.

Her purse, a crocodile Birkin bag from Hermès, is worth upwards of $50,000.

We say farewell to President Trump and Melania…

GOD BLESS YOU and thank you for keeping us out of wars.

IT’S NOT THE END…IT’S THE BEGINNING.
