✻ღϠ₡ღ✻ Christmas is all about family and friends,
(¯`✻´¯) . eating, drinking and being merry.
`*.¸.*✻ღϠ₡ღ¸.✻

The vineyard in Buenos Aires was a buzz with Christmas activities; the twins had finished opening their presents on Christmas morning and Julia and Jesse were in the kitchen starting to prepare a family feast for dinner that night. Bradley was working on his chores with the field hands. He was not wanting to think that he was alone without his father, Sam, again this year. He really thought it would be a better Christmas since he and dad got closer to each in Paris; but maybe that was just a dream.

Bradley was still working outdoors when he saw a car coming down the gravel driveway; must be another worker coming to help out.

Then he heard his name, “Bradley, Bradley, Merry Christmas!!”

Focusing his eyes and shielding his eyes from the sun, Bradley saw his father, Sam jumping out of the car and running towards him.

A dream? A Christmas wish come true?

“Dad?”

“Bradley, yes, it’s me. You didn’t think I would miss being here for Christmas, did you?”

Bradley was on the verge of crying as he hugged his dad and said, “Merry Christmas, dad.”

“Merry Christmas, son, Now, let’s start our Christmas celebration.”

“Where’s April and the girls?”

“I dropped them off at the house, first and then came out here to find you. You look pale, are you OK?”

“I’m perfect. Having you here at the vineyard was all I wanted for Christmas.”

Bradley put his arms around Sam’s shoulders as they walked to the car  and then they drove back to the house. Talking endlessly along the way.

Everyone was gather in the living area, drinking and talking and enjoying each other when there was a knock on the door. Sam answered the door and was surprised to see Aunt Beatrice and Grandpa Jesse standing on the porch with an arm full of presents.

“Merry Christmas, everyone!”

There were shouts of joy from everyone. The whole family was together again for a truly blessed Christmas.

May the Christmas festivities give your heart a reason
to feel happiness and make your life joyful.

Aunt Beatrice and Grandpa Jesse found them selves alone on Christmas morning.

“I don’t feel happiness, Jesse.”

“I don’t feel joyful, Bee.”

“What are the plans for the day?”

“Jesse, after I finish my coffee, I’m going for a long walk.”

“And after that? Where should we have dinner?”

“Buenos Aires comes to mind. If we get to the airport in the next hour, we can make it to Argentina by night fall.”

“You mean it, Bee. Fly out of here and join our family for Christmas? We can spend Christmas with Jesse, Julia and the twins.”

“Plus Bradley is down on the vineyard. I’m sure he will be excited to see us.”

“But Bee, aren’t you afraid to fly?”

“After a couple of shots of Tequila, I won’t know we are flying, in a plane.”

“I’ll call the airport and book us a private plane for our trip. Is that fine with you?”

“Sure is, I can’t stand crowds at airports or small seats on those planes. I feel like a sardine in a can.”

Grandpa Jesse laughed as he walked into the den to use his cell phone to make the arrangements.

Oh, what wonderful Christmas surprise.

Oooo, Champagne and Tea with Tasty Treats for a festive Christmas afternoon…

Anthony knew that if he caught a flight out of Paris at midnight on Christmas Eve, he would make it to his parents in Scotland by tea time on Christmas.

He was flying alone without his fiancée, Sophia. She was a major disappointment to him. He expected her to be with him and his parents for Christmas but instead, Sophia broke off their engagement. Yes, Anthony was sad but life goes on.

“May I take your coat, sir?”

Anthony looked up and found a petite blonde flight attendant smiling over him.

Handing his coat to her, Anthony sat down in his first class seat and smiled back at her.

“Thank you.”

“May I get you a drink before we take off, sir?”

Anthony thought about it for a few seconds and then answered, “Scotch, please.”

The flight was not a long flight but Anthony adjusted his seat belt so that he was comfortable; sometimes the night flights were bumpy. He didn’t want to keep putting and taking off his seat belt.

The blonde attendant hovered over him during the flight and he struck up a conversation with her and found out her name was Debra and she lived in Paris and had been flying for ten years.

“Do you enjoy your job, Debra?”

“Yes, I do. Except for a night like this. People flying around meeting family, friends and going to parties and I end up working. Not much fun for me.”

“It’s not exciting for some of us who have to go and meet parents and pretend to be in a joyous Christmas mood.”

“You don’t seem to be depressed. Here let me get you another scotch, that should cheer you up. We will be landing soon.”

“Thank you, Debra.”

Anthony was enjoying his conversation with Debra and when the plane landed, he approached her in the galley.

“Debra, might I be so bold and invite you to tea and champagne with my parents, here in Scotland?”

“Why how nice of you, Tony. But, I couldn’t impose upon your Holiday.”

“It’s alright, you see they think I’m bringing my fiancée, who is no longer my fiancée, so there will be plenty of room at our table for you. Please say yes and make this sad face smile.”

“If you put it that way, yes I would be honored to accompany you to your parents place. Thank you for asking me. I wasn’t looking forward to going to a gloomy hotel and be alone for Christmas.”

Anthony escorted Debra off the plane and into a taxi, heading into Edinburgh, the second largest city in Scotland.

Anthony and Debra arrived at his parents home just in time for Tea and Champagne.

Duncan and Constance were standing by the front window looking out when they saw   their son arriving with Sophia, or they thought.

“Duncan, you got your wish, no child in tow.”

“The Christmas gods are shining down on me, thank goodness.”

Duncan opened the door to greet the pair. “Merry Christmas, you guys.”

Constance echoed the greeting plus she welcomed them to Edinburgh, “We are so happy to see you. I was worried that you might have missed your flight or something.”

“Not a chance, mom. I would not miss Champagne and tea with my favorite parents.”

“I hope we are your only parents,” joked Duncan.

Everyone laughed and moved into the dining area where Constance had set up a beautiful table with Champagne and an antique silver tea set which she found in Edinburgh’s flea market. Constance made her once a year cake decorated with fresh tangerines.
Anthony introduced Debra to Constance and Duncan.

At first, they just stared at Debra and wondered who she was. It was not Sophia.

“I’m sure you have many questions to ask us but I suggest we open the Champagne and get this Christmas party started. Dad, would you do the honors, please.”

Duncan quick got it together, opened the bubbly, and held up his glass and said, “Merry Christmas to my love, Constance, my funny son and his new friend, Debra, Cheers.”

FA, LA,LA…can you hear me singing…

Michael Majors played his old LP records and drank bourbon from a Waterford crystal glass. It was from Marjorie’s vast collection of Waterford that they treasured and used on a regular basis.

“Cheers, Marjorie, I miss you very much.”

Majors emptied the glass of spirits, placed it on a side table. He put on his overcoat and headed out of his London apartment. He was dammed if he was going to spend Christmas Eve alone.

There was a British pub down the street from his place and he knew that someone would be drinking and feeling as alone as he was tonight. It was a bar where ex patriots and former British intelligence hung out regularly.

The fog had rolled in and Majors shook off the damp cold weather by going directly to the huge fireplace in front. The owner, Jay, greeted him with, “Merry Christmas, Michael.”

Majors answered with, “Bah.” as he moved closer to a table near the roaring fire.

Jay brought over a large glass of whiskey and set it on the table in front of Majors.

“Cheer up, it’s the Holidays, and  I would like to introduce you to my niece, Darlene.

Majors looked over at the bar and saw a beautiful woman, about forty years old, sitting by herself. He tipped his hat to her and took a drink from his glass.

It was near midnight and the bar almost empty. Majors strolled up to the bar and introduced himself to Darlene.

She was a delightful woman, who was visiting from Washington DC.

“Looks like we are the only ones left here tonight. What’s you excuse?”

Majors answered with, ” I have no place to go.”

“I’m sorry about that. We are in the same boat.”

“What no boyfriend, husband somewhere?”

“No, I’m single. What about you, Michael?”

“A widower.”

“So, sorry. Recently?”

“Yes, can you tell?”

“No, not really. I figured you had a good reason to be out alone on Christmas Eve.”

“Do you like music? I mean not that stuff kids call Rap, but the oldies. The type you still play on a phonograph.”

“You touched my musical side. I play the piano and sing in our church choir.”

“May I make a suggestion without being too forward?”

“That depends on what the suggestion might be, Mr. Majors.”

“My apartment is a few blocks away, would you like to come over tonight?”

“That’s a tempting invitation. Can I add to that invite?”

“Why of course, my dear.” Majors didn’t know what was coming next but he was game with this charming woman. He had nothing to lose.

“There’s a midnight mass at St. Catherine’s tonight and it’s a block away.”

Majors was taken back in surprise but smiled at her, ” Darlene, it would  be my pleasure and afterwards, I make a mean stack of pancakes.”

“With maple syrup?”

“With a cherry on top and a mimosa on the side.”

“What? No, Pina cola?” Darlene laughed and grabbed Michael’s arm

and they skipped out of the British pub, waving back at Jay and yelled,

MERRY CHRISTMAS.”

Do Christmas Wishes truly happen or is it just a Hallmark movie…

Sophia had made up her mind about not going with Anthony to Scotland for Christmas.

She was staying in Paris with her daughter, Isabella.

This is not that Hallmark movie where every girl dreams about starring in one day.

Sophia was a bright, talented woman with a strong will. She was going to chill and drink hot cocoa with her daughter all day long on Christmas. Maybe, watch a movie, like Miracle on 34th Street. What a great movie to watch and a happy ending, too.

Sophia was settling in for a movie watching afternoon but a knock on the door changed all of that forever.

“Why, Norman, what are you doing here?”

“I came to wish you and Isabella a MERRY CHRISTMAS.”

There stood Norman dressed in a Santa suit and holding more presents that he could carry but he did it. Norman wanted Sophia back in his life along with her daughter. Nothing, no other man, was going to stand in his way.

“Come in “Santa”, Sophia yelled so Isabella could hear.

Isabella ran into the living room and shouted with joy, “Santa, Santa.”

Norman got down on his knee to be the same height as Isabella and handed her one of the many presents he brought.

He remained on his knee and gave Sophia a small black box.

Opening the box, he said, “Sophia, will you marry me?”

Sophia was speechless.

What should she say?

Was this love?

Or was she part of a movie scene?

Whatever this invitation was…it was perfect for her at this time.

Anthony and she had broken up a week ago, so she was free to accept, if she wanted.

“Sophia, are going to keep me on my knee forever?”

“No.”

“What are you saying, Sophia?”

Sophia laughed and quickly responded, “No, I mean I’m not going to have you on your knee forever, and YES, I accept your proposal.”

Norman jumped up off of his knee and kissed Sophia and then picked up Isabella.

At last, they were going to be a family.

Christmas miracles do happen in Paris after all.

“I am dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones
I use to know.” ~~Irving Berlin

James loved Carolyn more than anyone in the whole world and he wanted her to have the best and happiest Christmas ever.

“Carolyn, I have an idea to make you feel better about our Christmas this year.”

“What’s that, James?”

“You know it’s our 15th wedding anniversary, right?”

“Yes, of course I remember. It was the best day of our lives together.”

James came over to the large red velvet chair Carolyn was sitting on and threw down a pair of airline tickets in her lap.

“What’s this James? Do we have an assignment from the Agency this time of the year?’

“No, my love. We are going to Switzerland.”

“What? Why?”

“We are going to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Christmas in Switzerland.”

“Just the two of us?”

“Yes, just the two of us. So, you better get packed we are leaving tonight and tomorrow we will be in The Alps for Christmas.”

“Really? Oh, that’s fabulous, James.” Carolyn got up from her chair and kissed her husband. “Are we going first class?”

“Yes, it’s first class. Only the best for my wife.” James hugged his wife and then they both ran up stairs to pack.

`*.¸.*✻ღϠ₡ღ¸.✻´´¯`✻.¸¸.Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ..

As a writer, at this time of the year, I like to look back at my characters and see how they are celebrating the Holiday season.
In the last ten chapters, I brought them up to date as VICKY TROXELL
stated her comment on facebook. And so I did…bring them to life, again.

This saga is different than the others I have written in the past 2 1/2 years.
I truly hope you enjoyed the feelings of my characters.

I want to wish you all a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Thank you for being part of the joy I have writing the sagas.

Now, for a surprise…

ON CHRISTMAS DAY….

I will complete the saga; TIS THE HOLIDAYS SAGA
and you will read all of their stories. I know you all like happy endings
but wait…will they all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS?

STAY TUNED.

May peace, love and prosperity follow you always.

Bradley, Sam’s son, sat by his patriotic Christmas tree in Argentina on his father’s vineyard waiting for Jesse and his gang to show up and celebrate Christmas. They were all family and together they would be for Christmas.

Bradley hung stockings for the twins and one for his father in hopes he would show up for Christmas.

When Jesse had moved to Argentina, it made Bradley’s life easier. He had someone to lean on now that his father, Sam, was absent. Sam had promised to be back in South America for Christmas.

So far, Sam was a no show.

Bradley put on a brave face and was happy to celebrate with someone.

“T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”

The only people that were stirring on their ranch was Aunt Beatrice and Grandpa Jesse.

They were having supper and talking about the good old days when Jesse, his wife and the twins stirred around the ranch. Now, it was very quite without them. They moved to South America to run they vineyard, which they bought several years ago with Sam Houston.

“You know Aunt Beatrice, I sure miss the kids.”

“So do I. However, they did send us a few bottles of wines from their vineyard this year.In fact, I’m gong to open a bottle right now because we need to celebrate.”

“Let’s celebrate Christmas with some of that wine, Aunt B.”

Grab your loved ones, a glass of eggnog and cozy up
by the fire, because Christmastime is here.

Michael Majors didn’t have a love one this year. His wife, Marjorie,  had died and he was alone.

He missed his wife so much, that he hung her stocking up by a cabinet, since he didn’t have a fireplace.

Michael had moved in a new flat in London and it wasn’t fancy. He wasn’t concerned about what the place looked like and didn’t notice it was minus  a fireplace. Oh, how Marjorie loved Christmas. It was her favorite time of the year.

Majors didn’t like eggnog, so he grabbed a bottle of bourbon and sat in a big chair next to the Christmas tree.

“Cheers, Marjorie.”

Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.
